Clover Hill Early Learning Center is more than a preschool and childcare setting. It’s a learning community with two beautiful campuses in Ontario, Ohio. Our programs are built around real-world experiences, play-based learning, and strong family partnerships.

Preschool Lead Teacher

Full-Time, Hourly

Reports To: Director

Position Summary

The Preschool Lead Teacher creates a loving, engaging, and well-managed classroom for preschool children. You will plan lessons, support children’s social and academic growth, communicate with families, and ensure a safe, positive learning environment every day.

What We’re Looking For

At Clover Hill Early Learning Center, we want caring, dependable educators who are committed to giving every child a safe, loving, and enriching start to their learning journey. To join our team as an Assistant Teacher, you’ll need:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent, plus a CDA or an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Two years of experience in a childcare or early learning setting is helpful.

• A clear physical exam and all required health documentation.

• Completed background checks (FBI, BCI, and OCCRRA).

• The ability to complete the following trainings before or within 60 days of hire: CPR, First Aid, Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse.

• Willingness to complete DCY Childcare Orientation and the SUTQ Child Development Overview, with prior knowledge of ODJFS licensing and SUTQ considered a plus.

• Openness to any additional training or qualifications the Director may require as part of your growth.

What You’ll Do

Classroom & Learning

• Create a safe, calm, and inviting classroom every day.

• Plan and teach hands-on, developmentally appropriate lessons.

• Adapt activities to meet different learning styles and needs.

• Encourage creativity, independence, and problem-solving.

Safety & Supervision

• Always supervise children closely.

• Follow all health, safety, and meal guidelines.

• Respond calmly to behavior challenges and help children learn positive skills.

Assessments & Records

• Complete ASQ-3 and Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG) assessments as required.

• Track daily attendance and maintain accurate documentation.

• Keep lesson plans and classroom procedures organized.

Family Communication

• Communicate with families through Brightwheel app, calls, and parent/teacher conference meetings.

• Share progress, goals, and daily highlights.

• Build warm, trusting relationships with parents.

Teamwork & Growth

• Work closely with the Director, Admin staff,, and co-teachers.

• Attend staff meetings and professional development.

• Support center events and family activities.

Working Conditions

• Occasional exposure to typical childcare messes (blood, fluids, cleaning supplies, etc.).

• Some interaction with challenging behaviors.

• Ability to lift and carry classroom materials.

Physical & Other Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and move classroom materials.

• Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs when assisting children.

• Comfort working under time-sensitive deadlines.

• Ability to stay calm in crisis situations and use supervision constructively.

• Strong interpersonal skills for working with children, families, and staff.

• Ability to manage individual and group interactions respectfully and effectively.

Lead Teacher

Position Summary

The Lead Teacher is responsible for guiding a classroom community, planning meaningful learning experiences, and supporting each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. You’ll help children learn new skills, build friendships, and discover the world around them while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.

What We’re Looking For

At Clover Hill ELC, we want educators who lead with heart and understand that childhood should feel magical and secure. For this role, we’re seeking someone with:

• A High School Diploma or equivalent.

• A CDA or Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

Two years of experience in a childcare or early learning setting (preferred).

• A clear physical exam and all required health documentation.

• Completed background checks (FBI, BCI, and OCCRRA).

• Document learning goals, observations, and developmental progress.

• Maintain accurate attendance, records, and required forms.

• Keep lesson plans, classroom materials, and procedures well-organized.

Family Communication & Support

• Partner with families through daily communication, messages, conferences, and meetings.

• Help parents understand academic goals, behavior expectations, and developmental milestones.

• Maintain confidentiality and respect each family’s privacy.

Collaboration & Professional Growth

• Work as part of a supportive teaching team.

• Collaborate with administrators, support staff, and specialists when needed.

• Participate in staff meetings, center events, and ongoing professional development.

• Help implement behavior plans, intervention strategies, and classroom supports.

Physical & Other Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry classroom materials and children (up to approximately 50 lbs.).

• Comfort working in a busy, active environment with multiple young children.

• Ability to manage time well and complete tasks by required deadlines.

• Willingness to respond to difficult behaviors and support positive social development.

Assistant Teacher

Clover Hill Early Learning Center – Ontario, OH

Full-Time or Part-Time, Hourly

Reports To: Director

The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in creating meaningful learning experiences for children across all programs. This role plays an important part in helping children build strong language, social, cognitive, and motor skills. With guidance from the Lead Teacher, you will help prepare lessons, support daily routines, and ensure that every child feels loved and supported throughout the day.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Child Development Associate (CDA) preferred.

• At least two years of experience in a childcare or early learning environment preferred.

• Completion of all required health documentation, including a clear physical exam and TB test.

Clear background checks through the FBI, BCI, and the OCCRRA system.

• Ability to complete CPR, First Aid, Communicable Disease, and Child Abuse training within 60 days of hire.

DCY childcare licensing and SUTQ knowledge preferred.

• Completion of DCY Childcare Orientation and the SUTQ Child Development Overview.

• Any additional training or qualifications requested by the Director.

Physical and Other Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, and move classroom supplies and equipment.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when assisting children.

• Comfort working within time constraints and meeting required deadlines.

Essential Responsibilities

Creating a Safe and Loving Environment

• Provide consistent supervision and ensure every child feels safe, cared for, and valued.

• Support children’s physical, emotional, social, and intellectual needs throughout the day.

• Maintain a welcoming classroom that is clean, organized, and engaging.

Classroom Teaching and Support

• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to prepare weekly lesson materials.

• Help implement daily activities that align with program goals.

• Engage with children through hands-on learning experiences and play.

• Encourage curiosity, independence, problem-solving, and creativity.

Care Routines and Daily Support

• Assist with feeding, including bottle preparation or meal support as needed.

• Change diapers every two hours or more often if necessary.

• Support children through toilet learning and hygiene routines.

• Keep accurate documentation for infant classroom menus and feeding records.

Family Partnership

• Communicate with parents in a warm, respectful, and professional manner.

• Support a positive connection between the classroom and families.

• Share daily highlights and communicate any concerns to the Lead Teacher or Director.

Team Collaboration

• Participate in staff meetings, required trainings, and center events.

• Maintain accurate records and complete paperwork in a timely manner.

• Support classroom staff, volunteers, and substitutes to ensure smooth daily operations.

• Promote teamwork and help create a collaborative, joyful workplace.

Professional Expectations

• Use classroom materials, routines, and environments to support exploration and learning.

• Offer a variety of activities that promote physical development.

• Encourage children to ask questions, explore ideas, and engage in problem-solving.

• Support verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

• Help maintain organized records and follow all center procedures.
